We require a non-refundable deposit for all surgery appointments at the time of booking. The deposit is $25, and will be applied to the total cost on the day of surgery. Booked clients can use this as a clinic credit for a later date if they cancel or reschedule 3 days in advance, 50% credit with 24 hours notice. This new policy will help to ensure that we can stay affordable and that the much-needed surgery spots are being used. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at healthypets@sopines.org.
Midtown Clinic
Located at 203C S 40th Avenue, just across from Regions Bank, this new clinic is our dedicated surgery center for spay and neuters. This building also provides our vets and staff with some much-needed office space, as well as housing an additional clinic for basic wellness pet services. Meanwhile, our Downtown Hardy Street location will continue to provide general wellness care.
When scheduling your pet for a spay/neuter surgery, please be sure to thoroughly read the confirmation email for drop off and pick up directions. Have any questions? Feel free to reach out to us at healthypets@sopines.org.
What To Expect
The night before your pet's surgery, they should not have any food past midnight, but you should provide water. Kittens and puppies under 4 months old can have 1/2 their normal food until 5am. Please confine animals indoors the night before so the animal does not scavenge for food.

If your pet does not have a rabies vaccine, per MS state law we will administer it at the time of surgery for an additional charge of $15. If your pet has a current rabies vaccine, bring proof in the form of a rabies certificate or current vaccination record from your veterinarian.

All dogs must be on leashes and all cats must be in carriers, one cat per carrier. Refrain from bringing your pet's personal items, such as toys and blankets. Due to the high volume of clients, loose items can easily be lost in the shuffle.

You’ll drop your pet off with us in the morning and leave them at the clinic until after the procedure and they’ve recovered from the anesthesia. Check-in is from 7:45am-9am on Monday-Friday. For discharge, you will receive a text message from us stating that your pet’s surgery is complete and can be picked up in two hours. Dogs are required to leave the building with an E-collar in place.
