Southern Pines Healthy Pet Clinic offers compassionate euthanasia services for pets whose quality of life has greatly diminished. We understand this is one of the most difficult decisions you as a pet parent can make and will assist you throughout the entire process. Our professional veterinary staff can help guide you through your pet's current health situation so you can rest assured you are making an informed decision on your pet's quality of life. 

Because each situation is unique, we ask that you contact us at appointments@sopines.org to discuss what steps need to be taken. We may recommend a sick pet appointment if you would like more time to decide or want an objective opinion on an animal we have not seen personally.

What to expect

When you arrive for your appointment, a staff member will meet you at your car to discuss the procedure and answer any questions you may have at this time. Then you and your pet will be brought inside to the exam room if you choose to be present during the procedure. 

Your pet will be sedated before the final injection to ensure a peaceful and painless transition. The entire process typically takes about 30 minutes once you arrive at the clinic. 

​AFter the Procedure​

After the procedure, you may take your pet home for private burial or you may choose to have them cremated. 

​We offer cremation through Pethaven Crematory in Hattiesburg. If you choose cremation, we will send your pet's remains to Pethaven and you will pick up the ashes from their facility.
